Domain Name System Security Extensions (DNSSEC) warrant genuine DNS transactions and prevent attacks like cache poisoning. Cache poisoning  can be used by criminals to guide calls from websites to external servers. This technique therefore serves to prepare for so-called phishing attacks, which are used to log access data and other personal information.
